Tailgating season is in full swing and Des Moines entrepreneur Derek Hoy has invented a way to make the sporting tradition even more fun. Through his recently launched Kickstarter campaign, Hoy hopes to raise $275,000 to begin production on the Cooler Cannon—a mechanized cooler that tosses thirsty tailgaters a beverage with the push of a remote-control button. The cooler holds up to 18 cans and can toss a beverage up to eight feet. In January 2012, the product—then called Shoot A Brew—received a nod from The Tonight Show‘s Jay Leno. Hoy is a graduate of Iowa State University and received his MBA from the University of Missouri Kansas City. At the time this article was published, Hoy had raised $6,665 of his goal with 25 days left on the campaign. — Source: Kickstarter
