Kauffman Labs for Enterprise Creation created 1 Million Cups (1MC) as a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in the Kansas City community. Each week, the 1MC program offers two local upstarts an opportunity to present their companies to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs. Design + Tech: Making Data Visual – Wednesday, 7 p.m.

John T. Meyer, CEO and co-founder of Lemon.ly, will discuss how his team approaches the process of converting data into compelling infographics. Lemon.ly is a visual marketing firm focused on creating understanding through visuals. John will cover the basics of data visualization and the power of visual marketing. He might even share some tips on going viral.

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.
