Help us welcome Avner Ronen, Gentry Underwood, and Tara Hunt to Thinc Iowa in October.

Today we’re adding to our speaker list by welcoming three more phenomenal individuals to our Thinc Iowa slate.

One has been named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 people “changing the world in a positive way,” one led the team that created what LifeHacker dubbed the “best to-do app for iPhone,” and the other has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the Most Influential Women in Technology.

Press accolades aside, we want to introduce you to Avner Ronen, Gentry Underwood and Tara Hunt.

Ronen is the CEO and co-founder of Boxee, “a new way to think about TV.” The Boxee team builds software and hardware that allows users to harness television and movie content on the web and deliver it to their TV.

Underwood co-founded Orchestra, the company that produced the award-winning to-do list app of the same name and late last week announced a pivot to “tame email” with its new product, Mailbox. Prior to Orchestra, Gentry was head of knowledge sharing at global design consultancy IDEO.

Hunt wrote the The Whuffie Factor, and this will be a return trip to the Silicon Prairie for her. In 2009, Hunt did a karaoke RV tour across the United States and Canada with stops in both Des Moines and Omaha. Currently, she’s based in Montreal and serves as the CEO of Buyosphere, a startup promising to help you “ask, answer and discover great products.”

More speakers to come

We’ve announced the MC and eight of more than a dozen speakers sharing two and half days with you in Des Moines. If you’ve ever wanted to share a drink, a meal, a laugh and a memorable conversation with the nation’s leading entrepreneurs and innovators, here’s your chance.

Buy your tickets now

Tickets are moving quickly, and before you know it they’ll be sold out. Although we are offering a livestream of Thinc Iowa, you’ll want to be there for the real thing because at our conference what happens beyond the keynotes — that is, the introductionsthe deals and the magic — matters as much as what happens on stage.

Thank you to our sponsors

Through the support of our Thinc Iowa sponsors, we’re able to bring together sought-after speakers and give our attendees a memorable conference experience. Thank you to The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Iowa’s Creative Corridor, WebFilings and many more for sponsoring.
