Inc. has named Dwolla founder and CEO Ben Milne to its “30 Under 30” list, an annual feature showcasing 30 entrepreneurs and co-founding teams under 30 years of age who are “solving big problems.”
“Dwolla isn’t just taking on PayPal,” Inc.’s spotlight says about the Des Moines-based online payments startup. “Ben Milne’s start-up is disrupting the whole world of banking.”
Accompanying Milne on this year’s list is Iowa native and Pinterest co-founder Ben Silbermann, Spotify founder Daniel Ek and Jess3 co-founders Jesse Thomas and Leslie Bradshaw. The list touts a notable alumni roster, as well, which includes Mark Zuckerberg, Aaron Patzer and Lauren Bush. Also part of that roster are Hudl‘s co-founders David Graff, John Wirtz and Brian Kaiser, who were honored in 2010.

This is the third “under” list Milne has appeared on the past 12 months. In December, Milne was on Forbes’ list, and in February, he was part of the Des Moines Business Record’s list.
To check out the feature on Milne, which includes a video interview of the CEO, see Inc.’s “Taking On the Entire Banking System“, or flip to page 83 in the print edition (below). The piece is writen by Eric Markowitz, the same author of the two recent Inc. articles about Omaha and the region’s startup community.
