Forbes revealed its annual "30 Under 30" feature today, naming Ben Milne, the co-founder and CEO of Des Moines-based Dwolla, to its list for the finance field. In all, 360 "disrupters" across 12 fields, such as media, technology and art, were given recognition for their efforts to "(make) a difference right now."
This recognition comes just days after Milne took the stage at a Des Moines music venue to unveil Dwolla's biggest feature release to date, Instant. That release garnered coverage from Forbes, as well.
Also noteworthy was the recognition of a small cast of past speakers from Big Omaha and Thinc Iowa, SPN's two premier annual events. Congrats to Milne and the three following individuals, who made the "30 Under 30" in the realm of social and mobile:
- Matt Mullenweg of Automattic (Big Omaha 2010)
- Leila Janah of Samasource (Big Omaha 2011)
- Ben Silbermann of Pinterest (Thinc Iowa 2011), who's also a Des Moines native
