Tuesday, November 16, 5-9 p.m. – Beer && Code

Omaha – Brazen Head Irish Pub (319 North 78th Street)

Beer && Code is a time for programmers to either socialize about programming or actually conduct the act of programing; while having a tasty drink. Preferably both, but some people can’t do both. If you don’t drink alcohol, no problem most places have N/A beers, Root Beers, soda, etc.

This year’s students from science, law, business and health science will be presenting plans for the following local bioscience inventions:

  • MedLetters – a user-friendly, web-based tool for doctors to communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and followup instructions to patients and their families
  • Transgenomics/Cold PCR – a new, less invasive cancer diagnostic tool that can potentially replace current diagnostics such as mammograms for breast cancer
  • Kizer gastronasal tube – improvement to make feeding tubes currently used in hospitals, nursing homes and elsewhere less miserable in terms of insertion and long-term use
