For those who went to yesterday’s YPC Summit, the overwhelming buzz is one of excitement as well as optimism and eagerness to continue shaping our community into what we want it to be.

Over 700 people attended the full day’s event which included a wide range of speakers and ideas being shared.   One of the highlights of the day was listening to Malcolm Gladwell challenge the 1,300 luncheon guests that to shape the future of Omaha, we must take an active role in working together to make the changes we want to see.  Meaningful improvements can be made in a relatively short time, Gladwell encouraged.

We at Silicon Prairie News had the chance to sit down and interview Malcolm Gladwell and that interview will follow early next week.

The Omaha World Herald had a great piece on the event as well as Gladwell’s speech as well.

Some of the encouraging buzz that we picked up from Twitter…

brandfresh: Malcom Gladwell’s challenge to Omaha: be urgent, frame our vision and identify our social connectors.

S_Monger: “It’s never been a more crucial moment for someone with a good idea.” – Malcolm Gladwell
joeolsen: Social Isolation is the biggest problem in the Corp worldsant0sk1: Malcolm Gladwell’s speech was excellent. We need some connectors!

dustyd: Awesome day today at the YPC Summit.. My feet hurt, my voice hurts… but I’m jazzed and motivated after hearing Malcolm Gladwell

Stay tuned for our interview with Malcolm next week!
