Without any further waiting, we’re overwhelmingly excited to announce the results of the Big Omaha charity: water Campaign which we launched on March 29, six weeks before Big Omaha.

When we set out to raise enough money for one well, $5,000, we were confident in our community but were curious as to what the campaign would look like: When and at what pace would the funds come in? Would we hit the goal by the time the organization’s founder, Scott Harrison, arrived to speak at Big Omaha?

I’m amazingly humbled and excited to announce that we’ve raised enough money for not only one well, or even two wells, but enough to build three wells which will serve over 750 people clean, fresh water for over 20 years.

3 wells. 3 villages. Over 750 lives changed. Forever. Because of you.

Just days before Big Omaha, we hit our $5,000 goal. After the event kicked off, we collectively raised enough money for two additional wells! In total, 185 individuals across the community raised $15,140.

Thank you.

What a feeling to know that our efforts have made an enormous difference in a countless number of lives!

Note: The total on the Big Omaha charity: water Campaign page does not reflect the grand total as there were some last minute donations that were included in the campaign but weren’t displayed on the page.

Here’s an excellent video from charitywater.org documenting the drilling of a well in Mogotio, Kenya for charity: water’s September 2007 campaign. It’s so exciting to know that this is the next step for the monies collected from the Big Omaha campaign!

And here are a few more photos from Big Omaha that capture the energy and excitement around the work of charity: water.
