Lincoln Kyle Murphy hopes something that started as a subject of casual conversation with colleagues and grew into an informal lunch group can eventually become a regular resource for UX designers in Lincoln and Omaha. Murphy (left), the vice president of user experience at Hudl, recently helped launch a UX Meetup in Lincoln. The group will hold its second gathering from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the offices of Nebraska Global (151 N. 8th St., Suite 300) in Lincoln's Haymarket district. Murphy perceived a need for the group after years of talking with other designers and developers about the disciplines involved in user experience. … read more

Lincoln Were you aware that the NFL's notorious "Spygate" scandal served as impetus for Hudl to beef up the security protecting its video? Or that Hudl's clients include teams from 20 sports? Hudl's Matt Mueller shared that information and more during a radio spot Wednesday morning with Jack & John In the Morning on Lincoln news talk station KLIN. The Lincoln company, which makes web-based video analysis and coaching tools for sports teams, today announced it has acquired APEX Sports Software of Lower Burwell, Penn. Hudl paid cash, giving up no equity in the deal. No APEX employees will join the Hudl team, which currently stands at 54 employees. Today's news comes just 11 months after Hudl's July 2011 purchase of Digital Sports Video (DSV), which at the time was the second-largest player … read more
