Silicon Prairie students and recent graduates interested in learning to design and develop will have an opportunity through Friday to qualify for two years of free online instruction in those disciplines.

Treehouse, a company that provides a series of web-based videos and quizzes to help people learn how to design and develop for the web and for iOS, is giving away 5,000 scholarships for two years of its educational offerings (a value of $1,200) to qualifying applicants worldwide.

Applicants must be current students or have graduated within the last year and must fill out a short online form. Applicants cannot be current Treehouse students or have participated in other giveaways sponsored by the company.

The 5,000 scholarship recipients will be chosen at random from the pool of qualifying applicants.

Applications will be accepted through Nov. 9, and winners will be announced on Nov. 16.
