On the first of this month, Des Moines attorney and adventurer Charlie Wittmack set off on an 11-month journey that's taking him from the banks of the River Thames in England to the summit of Mount Everest in Nepal. Appropriately titled The World Tri, Wittmack is traveling 12,000 miles through 13 countries, first swimming, then biking, and finally, climbing. read more
