Sioux Falls South Dakota's Innovation Expo returns to Sioux Falls on Tuesday with a refreshed look and new tagline: "Where suits and shirts connect." "If you think of the typical tech conference, you have your 'shirts' (designers, developers, idea people) and your 'suits' (venture capitalists, angel investors, IP lawyers), but Innovation Expo wants to see what connections can be created here in South Dakota by putting the two groups together," John T. Meyer of 9 Clouds, an inbound marketing firm, said in a written statement. The South Dakota Enterprise Institute partnered with Meyer's firm to bring a new brand, identity and format to its nine-year-old event. Organizers are … read more

With that in mind, Silicon Prairie News set a crack team of intrepid reporters loose on the streets of downtown Des Moines on Friday — or, more accurately, I walked around creeping … read more

Sioux Falls In the past two years, we've seen and featured coworking spaces popping up on the Silicon Prairie. The Foundry opened in October of 2009 in Des Moines. CAMP emerged last summer in Omaha, and we recently mentioned Vault Coworking, set to launch in Cedar Rapids this fall. The coworking phenomenon continues to spread across the prairie with the arrival of Meso in Sioux Falls. Josh Aberson, a Sioux Falls entrepreneur … read more

Defined by Wikipedia as a "graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge," they've been popping up everywhere lately: news headlines, daily blogs, company blogs, blog categories and business plans. In fact, it's one startup's core purpose … read more
