After honing their product during a pilot program this springBriefcase will start the new school year by launching at 50 schools across the country.

After testing the platform at four local universities—the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri–Columbia, the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University and Park University—Briefcase’s team is taking what they learned and expanding their user base even further.

“We want to share Briefcase with as many schools and students as possible, so we can not only get more feedback about the platform, but also solve the problems students and career service departments face on a daily basis,” said Briefcase co-founder and COO Caleb Phillippi in a release.

One percent of students at each new school will gain access to the platform and be able to use Briefcase to search for, favorite and apply for job openings for free. Once a school reaches its 1 percent limit, potential users will receive a message that Briefcase has reached capacity at their school, and are given the option to send a pre-written message to their university’s career services department requesting they bring Briefcase to campus.

Once a college or university licenses Briefcase, the rest of its students will have full access to both the online and mobile app versions of the startup’s platform as well as all of the features it offers.

While the 50 schools are mostly outside the Midwest, students at Northwestern University, Creighton University, the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin will be able to take advantage of the platform.
