The co-founder and CEO of “Gov 2.0” startup MindMixer has been busy since a whirlwind 24 hours at SXSW.

On March 10, he led a discussion about MindMixer, analytics, local governments and how they are thinking about data and engaging constituents. Nearly 100 attended, he said.

“It’s nothing outside our wheelhouse,” Bowden said of the talk, “but it was talking to a different audience and that’s always a positive thing.

“It’s worthwhile, I just wish we could’ve been down there longer.”

It’s the first time he’s been to SXSW because March is usually a big time of the year for clients, he said. He hopes to go next year if timing allows it.

“It’s one of those events that a ton of people say is great, but you have to be intentional about how you’re going to do it,” he said.

Bowden’s talk addressed hyperlocalization, community engagement tools, other ways citizens can be engaged with a community and how technology can be used.
