Over the next two months, entrepreneurs from both sides of Iowa will be able to participate in Startup Weekend as two towns host the weekend-long events.

The first is Startup Weekend Spencer, which returns in late January. With a population of less than 12,000, the small Iowa town—which hosted its first Startup Weekend in June 2013—is likely the smallest ever to host such an event, according to organizer Sara Magnussen. About a month later, eastern Iowa will host its first Startup Weekend with Startup Weekend Cedar Rapids
