The startup scene in Lincoln saw some major growth in 2013. So big that it was among the Lincoln Journal Star‘s top business stories in 2013. The Journal Star said the growing support system for Lincoln’s startup community has helped accelerate the boom. “There are more companies investing more money in startups, including Nelnet and Nebraska Global locally, and startups are gaining other support, such as professional expertise and cheap office space through Fuse Co-working, which opened earlier this year at Eighth and P streets,” the paper’s business editors wrote. The list also named Lincoln-based startups Travefy, Lockr and Powderhook as some of the year’s notable newcomers. — Source: Lincoln Journal Star
