Success is contagious in Kansas City right now. Knoda just announced it has secured seed funding from a local investor, topping off another pair of recent success. First, Hoopla.io, the event discovery platform that recently began its national content expansion, went down to Dallas last week for Miller Lite’s Tap the Future pitch competition and came back $20,000 winners. They’ll move on to the finals for a chance to win $250,000 in December and are still eligible to win fan favorite and $10,000 via online voting. Next Sock 101, co-founded by Entrepreneur KC radio show host Jason Grill, also reached (and exceeded) its Kickstarter goal last week. More than 350 backers propelled the startup past its $25,000 goal to $30,342. — Source: Dallas Business Journal and Kickstarter
