For those creative writers not quite ready for novel writing, RareWire has an outlet. The Kansas City startup’s first completely in-house app, Spine, lets users write and publish micro-stories of up to five sentences. Users can choose to either follow specific authors and friends or view the entire stream, while also rating and viewing top-rated stories within nine categories. “Spine is ideal for authors to sample their storytelling style to attract new readers as well as stimulate faithful loyal readers and fans,” said Roger Doeren, chief operating officer at Rainy Day Books. First launched in beta about a month ago, the app was designed with iOS 7 in mind and is now available for free on the App Store for iPhone—Android and iPad will soon follow. — Source: RareWire
