Thanks to 3 Day Startup, an international organization focused on building entrepreneurial communities on college campuses, a select group of students will soon have a platform to make their entrepreneurial ideas a reality.

Forty students from the Omaha or Lincoln area will have an opportunity to work with investors and entrepreneurs to build a software company over the course of three days. After a brainstorming session on Friday evening, the group will work to produce a minimum viable product by Sunday evening’s presentation.

According to the organization’s website, 40 events on four continents have resulted in the creation of 28 businesses, which have received roughly $8.5 million in funding. A number of 3 Day Startup alumni companies have become fairly well-known names, including Famingo, Hoot.Me and Timehop. Sixteen of the organization’s alumni startups have even gone on to participate in accelerators like TechStars, Y Combinator and 500 Startups.

The event will be held from 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Creighton University‘s Harper Center, home to its Heider College of Business. While 3 Day Startup is only open to accepted participants and a small group of mentors, the final pitches—scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday—will be free and open to the public. However, pre-registration is required.

Interested students of any level—undergraduate, masters or Ph.D candidate—from the Omaha or Lincoln area have until Monday, Nov. 4, to complete the free 3 Day Startup application, which is available online
