A meetup group that launched in Lincoln less than a year ago has already inspired a duo in Omaha to start it up here. And starting it up is no surprise: it’s at the core of the group that calls itself Ladies Who Launch.
“It is just what Omaha needs,” Beka Doolittle (far left), owner of ecommerce site thepinkstore.com, said in a press release. “This is a very refreshing opportunity for any woman who is already a business owner, aspiring to be a business owner or interested in investing in a business.”
Doolittle teamed up with TAGG fundraising platform creator Leslie Fischer (above, near left) to launch the Omaha chapter. The two say they met at a café and quickly realized how many things they had in common in terms of starting a business.
The group’s kickoff event will be September 17 at Clancy’s and fittingly feature a talk from Karen Linder of Linseed Capital—it was her talk at TEDxOmaha 2012, after all, that helped instigate Ladies Who Launch in Lincoln.

“Whether you just have an idea or have been in business for 10 years, you bring value to this group,” Fischer said in the press release. “Everyone can learn from someone else. I wish when I was starting my business I would have had a group like this.”
