Tech Cocktail‘s blend of one part mixer, one part startup showcase is set to return to Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing Company on May 7.

In the midst of a party atmosphere, the event will offer a handful of startups the opportunity to “show off in an expo-style” to the entrepreneurial community for free. Interested startups need to apply online by Friday in order to be considered.

“At Tech Cocktail events you are bound to connect with potential new employees, developers, designers and more,” according to the group’s event page. “During past mixer events we have had companies find employees, cofounders, funding and some startups have even been acquired.”

The Mixer & Startup Showcase, sponsored by Treeswing, runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with $15 early-bird tickets available through April 30, $15 through May 3 and $20 for last-minute tickets. Register at the Eventbrite site. Employers can use the media and events organization’s job board to bring attention to openings before the event.

According to the Eventbrite page, Tech Cocktail is “a media company focused on better connecting, educating and amplifying the startup technology community and showcasing the latest tech innovations.”
