Attendees gather at Rockhurst University for the seventh Kansas City Startup Weekend.
With the goal of creating a startup from scratch, Kansas City’s seventh Startup Weekend formed 11 teams Friday from a pool of 62 attendees at Rockhurst University’s Helzberg School of Management.

Today, the teams will continue to work on their ideas and present to the panel of judges at 4:30 p.m. in the university’s Science Center, Room 115, following speaker Sam Meers, president and CEO of Meers Advertising. The event is open for the public to register on the Eventbrite site and a live stream is available at Ustream.

- Code Your Own (@CodeYourOwn): Build your own customized code learning experience.
- Shopily (@iShopily): Simplifies the retail experience for consumers and provides rich insight into behavior for marketers.
- Open Gardens (@OpenGardensKC): Connects growers and communities to nurture collaboration and promote sustainable living.
- VidSpective (@VidSpective): Where you can go to experience an event as it happens.
- Mingle (@MyMingle): A digital networking application that makes making the connections you need fast, easy and efficient.
- AquaLife (@AquaLifeApp): Pairs your water bottle to your iPhone to ensure you don’t get dehydrated.
- LittleHootz (@LittleHootz): Digital scrapbooking app that makes it easy to create, archive and share the unexpected and hilarious things your kids do and say.
- All Dogs (@AllDogsKC): Dog breed matching web and mobile app.
- Pluginy (@Pluginy): Dynamic content optimization and help for non-technical and IT professionals to make changes to website content efficiently.
