The opportunity to meet nearly 50 companies and organizations in Kansas City’s startup community is a just free shuttle ride away. From 4-10 p.m. Friday, the first Kansas City Startup Crawl aims to introduce participants to area entrepreneurs, startups, accelerators and service providers.

“It’s like a pub crawl, but instead of bars, it’s a looping tour of startup spaces,” said Adam Arredondo of Local Ruckus and Kansas City Startup Village, a grassroots organization that’s helping organize the crawl.

For no cost – donations are encouraged – Startup Crawl participants will visit six venues Friday, each connected by a circuit of shuttles. The venues include Red Nova Labs, Kansas City Startup Village, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Think Big Partners, Office Port and BetaBlox.

“This started out as a little meetup brainstorm between Venture Friday and Startup Village, but then we saw the opportunity to make it more inclusive and widespread,” said Carrie Royce of Red Nova Labs, the host of Venture Fridays and lead organizer of the event. “The result is another great example of KC organizations coming together to support a healthy entrepreneurial community,” she said in a recent press release.

Tickets and more information are available at kcstartupcrawl.eventbrite.com.
