Omaha event to feature Silicon Valley Connect’s Ellen Levy on Jan. 29

Omaha January 15, 2013 by Danny Schreiber Only 14 days until Big Omaha. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Early LinkedIn employee Ellen Levy is the featured speaker of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce annual meeting luncheon Jan. 29.

Levy (left) is currently the managing director of Silicon Valley Connect, a company that works to create programs, services and initiatives meant to build bridges between Silicon Valley and the rest of the world. The title of a Fast Company profile on Levy last year posed the question if she is the "most connected woman in Silicon Valley."

With this year's theme, "Celebrate Entrepreneurship and Innovation," Levy brings more than 15 years of experience in Silicon Vally to the event, including a stint at Apple in the '90s.

The meeting will also feature a "call to action" by the Chamber for corporations to explore ways to become engaged in the startup community, said Dusty Reynolds, the organization's director of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Chamber president David Brown will present three awards, as well, which we're honored to share includes one to Silicon Prairie News, the "Headliner of the Year" award.

Event information and tickets, which cost $75 for Chamber members and $100 for non-members, can be found at omahachamber.com.

Also, if Levy is a somewhat familiar face in the Omaha area it's because she is; Levy's twin sister, Lara Jana, is a pediatrician here.
