At noon today Cedar Rapids startup RecBob will take the stage at DEMO, VentureBeat's semiannual showcase of startups and new products in Santa Clara, Calif.

After earning the opportunity through a Startup America Partnership contest, RecBob joined the roster of more than 75 companies that will deliver a six-minute pitch on stage and have spot in the event's expo hall. Touting a Facebook app for managing rec league sports, RecBob is presenting in the social category.

"Launching at DEMO is a game-changing opportunity for any startup in the tech space," Anna Eisenberg of the Startup America Partnership said in an email to Silicon Prairie News. "RecBob will join the ranks of companies such as E-Trade and WebEx who have done so in the past, while presenting in front of thousands of peers, venture capitalists and members of the media."
