Shane Reiser to spotlight Startup Genome at Cornstalks Thursday

Omaha October 23, 2012 by Danny Schreiber

Shane Reiser facilitates Startup Weekend New York in 2010.

Shane Reiser, an Omaha resident who recently started working for Des Moines-based startup Dwolla, will speak Thursday at Cornstalks, a monthly forum hosted by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce for people interested in high-growth entrepreneurship.

Reiser, who previously worked as director of marketing at Kohort and before that served as COO of Startup Weekend, will talk about Startup Genome, an organization he co-founded that aims to map every startup community in the world. He'll speak about its value, including how a community can benefit from it and how those attending can help with it. Reiser and Cornstalks organizer Dusty Reynolds are the co-curators of Startup Genome Omaha (below).

Cornstalks kicks off with networking at 6:30 p.m. and features Reiser at 7:30. It takes place at the Silicon Prairie News office (1111 North 13th St., Suite 208 – enter Door 2) and is free and open to the public.
