Most products fail, but they do so because their creators waste time building the wrong product, not because those creators don’t launch the product they set out to build.

So goes the theory at the heart of Running Lean, a workshop that’s set to take place from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday at The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation‘s Kauffman Labs.

The event is presented by Ash Maurya, the founder of Spark59 and author of the book “Running Lean: Iterate from Plan A to a Plan That Works“. Per a press release announcing the event, Maurya “challenges the notion that startups should plan based on gut, intuition and luck. Instead, he applies a systematic process for rigorously stress testing your ‘Plan A’ until you achieve a plan that works.”

The workshop is billed as a hands-on event for “those who want to raise their odds for building successful products.” It will examine questions about problem-solving, documenting and testing business models, acquiring customers and gauging and responding to what those customers want.

Tickets cost $249 and are available for purchase on the Running Lean Eventbrite page. Plenty of additional information about the event can also be found there.
