South Dakota’s Innovation Expo returns to Sioux Falls on Tuesday with a refreshed look and new tagline: “Where suits and shirts connect.”

“If you think of the typical tech conference, you have your ‘shirts’ (designers, developers, idea people) and your ‘suits’ (venture capitalists, angel investors, IP lawyers), but Innovation Expo wants to see what connections can be created here in South Dakota by putting the two groups together,” John T. Meyer of 9 Clouds, an inbound marketing firm, said in a written statement. The South Dakota Enterprise Institute partnered with Meyer’s firm to bring a new brand, identity and format to its nine-year-old event.

Organizers are eliminating the expo portion the event has featured in past years and bringing in more speakers from outside the Midwest – the lineup includes Dan Martell of Clarity and Darius Monsef IV of COLOURlovers. In all, more than 15 speakers will be featured either on the main stage or in one of four breakout sessions, including “Websites in 2015” and “Startup Community Alchemy.”
