Momentum” to take center stage at TEDxOmaha on Oct. 13

Omaha September 27, 2012 by Michael Stacy

TEDxOmaha makes its return Oct. 13, and tickets for the event are on sale now.

The independently organized TED event, which will take place from noon-6 p.m. at the Harper Center on the campus of Creighton University, will focus on the topic of momentum, exploring "what it takes to think, to act, to gain speed and to affect change."

The TEDxOmaha website offers more on the day's theme:

Our intention is to lift the veil of Midwestern modesty to highlight the remarkable accomplishments and ideas that we contribute to the city, the nation, and the planet. Our community deserves to witness what is happening – here, now – so they can be inspired to take bigger steps.

A slate of 13 speakers, ranging from a folk musician to a physician to an advertising exec to an activist skateboarder, will deliver talks at the event, which is produced by Omaha's Rebel Interactive.

TEDxOmaha is billed by its organizers as a "dynamic opportunity to connect face-to-face with people who – like you – participate in shaping the future."

Tickets to the event cost $20 and can be purchased online. More information is available on the TEDxOmaha website and Facebook page
