Omaha Creative Week returns for a third year Aug. 31-Sept. 9 aiming to provide a creative spark for the Omaha community.  

Close to 30 events, or “Creative Sparks,” are on the schedule for Creative Week, which, per its website, “celebrates local innovation in culture, businesses, education and social services and those who create new ideas, forms, methods and interpretations.”

Festivities begin on the evening of Aug. 31 with the Omaha Creative Week Kick-Off and run for 10 days.

The selection of events includes a 48-Hour Smart Phone Film Challenge, during which filmmakers will be given 48 hours to produce a five-minute film; the Heartland Developers Conference, a three-day software and development conference; Integrate, a meeting of designers and developers facilitated by the American Institute of Graphic Arts; a pre-party for Startup Weekend Omaha hosted by Silicon Prairie News; and an assortment of events showcasing and celebrating fashion, literature and the visual and performing arts.
