Tune in at 2 p.m. for the live stream of KCnext‘s “Future of Mobile Payments” event, showcasing the CEOs of startups Dwolla and Chirpify along with a senior vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

The event begins with individual presentations, and around 3 p.m., journalist Ben Paynter will join the speakers for a panel discussion and audience question and answer.

Ben Milne (left) is a payments outsider and founder of Dwolla, a next generation payment network charged with picking up the torch that Visa and Mastercard lit over 50 years ago. With its cutting edge technologies and innovative processes, the new system fixes the underlying inefficiencies, hazards, and fraud encumbering today’s current electronic payments landscape.

Barbara S. Pacheco (right) is a senior vice president and a member of the Management Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Ms. Pacheco heads the Financial Services Division of the Bank, which provides payments services and support to financial institutions across the United States. She also is responsible for the Bank’s Payments System Research group and for building customer relationships with financial institutions in the seven states of the Tenth District of the Federal Reserve System.

Chris Teso (left), the former founder of an interactive services and product incubator, now has his sights set on transforming Twitter into a social commerce platform as CEO and Founder of Chirpify. Chris has a wealth of experience in the interactive domain that is seldom rivaled and has spoken at high-profile conferences including Flash Forward and Mashable’s Under The Radar. In his past life as an Interactive developer he was recognized with Emmy, Clio, Mobius, Webby and Andy awards for work on brands like Progressive Insurance, ESPN, and Activision.

Ben Paynter (right) is a freelance journalist who writes frequently for Wired, Fast Company and Bloomberg Businessweek. Ben’s work has also appeared in the “Best of Technology Writing,” “Best Food Writing” and “Best American Sports Writing” anthologies. His work has inspired or been adapted for several TV shows including Wired Science on PBS. In 2012, he received the James Beard Foundation Award for Enviroment, Food Politics and Policy writing.
