We're hosting the first Silicon Prairie News Pub Quiz next week as part of One Week KC. Our event gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Monk's Loft, the upstairs event space at The Beacon (5031 Main St.) in Kansas City, Mo. Located just a stone's throw south of the Country Club Plaza, The Beacon is a tavern celebrating its grand opening and should provide a perfect setting for some quality socializing — and, of course, some intense trivia.

The pub quiz portion of the evening will follow a format similar to that of any other pub quiz you know, but with some distinct Silicon Prairie wrinkles. The winners will earn some sweet swag, and one lucky member of the winning team will score a ticket to Thinc Iowa. Not too shabby of a reward for a couple hours spent catching up with friends and answering some questions.
