As we begin Big Omaha day two, we’re excited to announce the late addition of Kevin Hale, co-founder of the online form builder Wufoo, a Y Combinator seeded startup acquired by SurveyMonkey in 2011.

When Wufoo launched, it aimed to beat out the existing form builders with an exceptional user experience, something it ultimately succeeded at doing. So much so, in fact, that it earned distinction by the “the king of usability,” Jakob Nielsen, as one of the best application UIs of 2008. More than props, it also earned revenue early on, with its model of attracting users with a simple elegant free app and converting them to paid users (we’re one of those free to paid users).

Today’s announcement is especially notable at Hale was last in Omaha in September for BarCamp Omaha, making the trip as part of the BarCamp Tour, an “entrepreneurial adventure” by four companies to connect with startup communities across the U.S. So as we close out Big Omaha, Hale is a perfect fit for our event that holds community to high importance.

Hale will be speaking at 2:20 p.m. in place of Joey Primiani of Backplane, who unfortunately had a schedule conflict arise.
