Silicon Prairie News: As the new guy at Corporate 3 since starting there in January, what have you tried to bring to the team?

Dylan Baumann: The coolest, quickest, most efficient way to get new websites up and running. Not to mention new resources/ideas/ways to look at problems.

SPN: You've said that the biggest part of your job is keeping up to date with technology. What are three of your favorite resources for keeping current on tech, and why do you like those?

DB: Design blogs (onepagelove.com, booooooom.com, etc.), Twitter and music videos (love me some music videos). It's a great inspirational mixture without overloading yourself on pure design.

SPN: Can you explain your involvement with Dirt Nap Gaming and what it is that sparked your interest in becoming involved?

DB: I work for DirtNap doing odds-and-ends graphic and layout designs. I'm an avid PC Gamer (LoL, RO2, EVE, Diablo3, DotA2). They're a great community heading in a great direction — we're sending people to a $10K tournament shortly.

SPN: You've done you fair share of pro bono work in the past. What's your pitch to other technically savvy people for the difference that they can make by donating their skills?

DB: We've all seen not-so-good designs at the grocery store, at church, plastered over a downtown window, on leave-behind cards. Write down the info and give it a shot; you're helping improve the advertising we're surrounded by.

SPN: You designed a T-shirt for the Nebraska State Fair once upon a time. Aside from the sweet shirts, what are four other can't-miss attractions at the fair?

DB: The awesome live bands, the deep-fried snickers, the lumberjack competition and the turkey legs. Oh my goodness, the turkey legs.
