With more than more than half of the 23 companies looking to hire, the second Startup Job Crawl Des Moines hits to the street with close to 100 registered students 5-8:30 p.m. on April 4. 

Close to 100 students from universities all across Iowa have already registered for the Startup Job Crawl in Des Moines, the second round for the city. The event that brings together startups and students gets underway at 5 p.m. Wednesday at StartupCity Des Moines (317 6th Ave., 5th floor).

In typical pub crawl form, students of all majors will break into groups and with a shotgun start, venture along stops meeting more than 20 companies (listed below). Whether you’re on the job and internship hunt, looking to start the networking experience or simply up for discovering what it takes to work for a startup, this free event will help to make powerful connections in the community in a causal and welcoming environment. 

If you’re a student who enjoyed your experience last fall, meet a different set of companies this time around and catch up with those you met last time. Startups develop quickly, so come learn what’s new this spring on Silicon Sixth. It’s not too late to sign up!

How to prepare

On Wednesday, you’ll make one-on-one connections with the people behind local startups, so brush up your résumé, bring along your business cards and pick out your finest business casual attire or causal, startup chic outfit. Be prepared to make your best first impression and have a pretty incredible networking experience – not to mention some fun learning about what’s emerging in the Des Moines startup scene.
