Sahil Lavingia of Gumroad, Eddie Huang of BaoHaus and Antonio Neves

We’re super excited to introduce to you to two more Big Omaha 2012 presenters and our emcee.

Please help us welcome Sahil Lavingia, the founder of one of Silicon Valley’s most buzzed about startups, Gumroad, and Eddie Huang, the dynamic young chef and budding media personality behind New York City’s BaoHaus restaurant. Also, meet our emcee, Antonio Neves, an energetic and engaging award-winning journalist.

Below is a bit more about each, including excerpts from their respective bios and why we’re more than excited to have them a part of Big Omaha 2012.

Sahil Lavingia

Sahil Lavingia was on the founding team of Pinterest before he left to build a number of other projects, including the turntable.fm iPhone app and the file sharing site Crate. He most recently started Gumroad with a focus of democratizing the ability to sell stuff online – easily, simply and beautifully. Gumroad assembled an A-List of investors for its latest round of funding, including Chris Sacca, Max Levchin, Seth Goldstein of turntable.fm (also a Big Omaha 2012 speaker).

For more on Lavingia and Gumroad, take a look at the story Fast Company published today, “Who’s Next: Pinterest Designer Sahil Lavingia And His New E-Commerce Site Gumroad“.

Eddie Huang

Eddie Huang of New York City’s acclaimed Baohaus restaurant is more than just a chef. His personality is much larger than the food world. He didn’t attend culinary school, instead he’s a former lawyer who had other ventures including a clothing line dedicated to the hip hop culture which he grew up in and has learned many of life’s lessons from over time. Baohaus, which opened in December of 2009, is still going strong, and now Huang has a book deal in the works and even a TV project being discussed with the Food Network.

We’ll be introduced to his energy and passion when he arrives in a few weeks. He has a personality that has some people calling him the “new Anthony Bourdain.” And a recent TIME piece on Huang suggests “if you want to understand where the food world is going and the special way that it intersects with our social-media-driven public life, he is the guy you should be looking at.”

Antonio Neves

For our emcee, we’re thrilled to have Antonio Neves bring his energy and excitement to the stage the moment our event kicks off on May 11. Neves is a passionate, award-winning business journalist and the correspondent of NBC produced MSN business show “Cool Runnings.” He’s also the founder of THINQACTION, a program in which he coaches young professionals to transform potential into exceptional performance in their careers.

Please help us welcome Sahil (@shl), Eddie (@MrEddieHuang) and Antonio (@TheAntonioNeves) to the slate and thank them for committing to build the event. We’ll see you in a few short weeks!
