Seven Des Moines creative professionals and entrepreneurs are teaming up to hold the first Iowa Creativity Summit on Thursday, March 1 on the campus of Drake University.

"Everyone needs more creativity," the event's website reads, "but there is a big disconnect as to what it means, and how to encourage it in your environment."

Headlined by Matthew May, author of three books, including "The Elegant Solution: Toyota's Formula for Mastering Innovation," the summit promises to familiarize attendees with creative processes.

For more information or to register ($35 in advance, $50 at the door), visit iowacreativitysummit.com. The site also lists the organizing team and gives thanks to "the idea mob," a group of individuals who provided input during the planning stages, which includes our own Geoff Wood.
