Episode 71: The one about blackouts and rumors
This week on PrairieCast our guests were Sayer Martin of Sagacious, Inc and Jordan Lampe of Dwolla. It was great timing, as we chatted with Lampe and the rest of the panel about the rumors of a Union Square Ventures-led Series B funding round for Dwolla and also looked back at how the SOPA Blackout Day played out throughout the region.
Additionally, we debuted two new regular segments: Fast Four and Andy’s Stat of the Week.
In Fast Four, panelists gives quick takes on four news items. This week, we covered Hudl’s national championship clients, Iowa State Senator Jack Hatch’s proposed legislation offering unemployment benefits to startups, the Iowa Secretary of State’s idea of waiving fees to jump-start new businesses and whether State-based Angel Investment Tax Credits really matter.

In Andy’s Stat of the Week, we close the show with a discussion about an interesting statistic from the region. This week’s number was $340,000. Watch the episode to find out what it means.
