With 2012 underway and big changes afoot for the Kansas City metro area with the impending arrival of Google Fiber, many people are working to make sense of the coming opportunity and prepare to innovate using ultra high-speed fiber.

It’s with that opportunity in mind that regional technology leaders will gather at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Boulevard Brewing Company (2501 Southwest Blvd.) for Inside KC Tech 2012 and Beyond, a panel discussion of the growth of Kansas City’s tech and IT influence nationally and globally.

KCTV5′s Stacey Cameron will moderate the event, which will feature conversation about Kansas City’s current and future workforce needs as well as what the future of tech will look like for the metro area. Panelists will include:

Rachel Hack, Kansas City’s Google representative, will also be giving a brief presentation on the status of the Google Fiber project. A networking and social hour will follow the panel discussion.

Admission is free, and registration for the event can be completed on its Eventbrite page.

FiberKC is hosting the event. Other sponsors include the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, KCNext – The Technology Council of Greater Kansas City and Boulevard.
