Dude, let’s go bowling.

That, it seems, is a common sentiment right now among Hudl‘s partners in the college football ranks. Hudl, the Lincoln company that makes web-based video and analysis tools for sports coaches, published a blog post yesterday sharing some impressive statistics about the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision’s bowl season, which kicks off Saturday.

A sampling of those statistics:

  • Forty teams that use Hudl are playing in bowl games, highlighted by the BCS National Championship Game between No. 1 Louisiana State and No. 2 Alabama.*
  • Thirty of 35 bowl games include at least one Hudl partner, and 10 games feature two.
  • In the final BCS rankings of the year, six of the top seven teams and 17 of the top 25 were Hudl users.
The only outlier among the BCS top seven was No. 3 Oklahoma State, and, well … at this point, Cowboys coach Mike Gundy has at least established beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s old enough to use Hudl.

•Updated Dec. 15, 10:30 p.m. — Louisiana State is ranked No. 1 in the BCS and Alabama is No. 2. In a previous version of this story, those rankings were incorrectly transposed.
