Adam Nielsen of GoodTwin, a boutique creative firm he founded in 2005, announced on Monday the addition of Andrew Wirick as co-owner, leader of technology, chief of finance and, for what we assume will be the leisure activity in the office, brewmaster.

With Wirick on board, however, GoodTwin plans to brew up a new business, as well.

“More importantly,” Nielsen said in a company newsletter, “Andrew’s arrival marks a shift in GoodTwin’s strategy and culture.”

Nielsen told me earlier this month that GoodTwin is laying the foundation to become a digital agency, one that he hopes to grow to 20-30 employees in the next five years. In Nebraska, this would put them in the company of Phenomblue, Archirval and other more established ad agencies, such as Baily-Lauerman and Bozell.

“We mean to leverage our cumulative talents to create an environment where cutting edge design genuinely collaborates with exciting technology,” Nielsen said in the newsletter.

Recent work of GoodTwin’s in Nebraska’s startup scene includes the design and identity for Dundee Venture Capital as well as work for Nebraska Global companies, such as ICORA. (GoodTwin’s work for Nebraska Global also includes the hard-to-miss “Behold the Steve” T-shirt, left, photo from instagram.com.)

Wirick joins Nielsen after serving for just over a year as senior trainer and developer for Colorado-based appendTo, a jQuery consulting, training and development firm. (appendTo’s president, Jonathan Sharp, is also based out of the Omaha area.)

“Andrew has an unquenchable desire to create a company where people will love the work they do everyday,” Nielsen said in the newsletter. “His other obsessions include his wife, juice, bikes, triathlons, and craft beers. He is also a world class homebrewer. Don’t believe us? Come to the office and we’ll be happy to prove it.”

Rumor has it, they’ve installed a kegerator.
