Last December, I looked at a post on Silicon Prairie News, rewrote a 350 word paragraph seven times over, crossed my fingers and landed an intern experience that straight-up changed the course for my professional career.

This upcoming spring, Silicon Prairie News is doing it again, and will be looking for a Public Relations & Event Intern to join our team January through May.

In this internship, you’ll dive right into the Silicon Prairie News culture and learn more than you ever thought you could (seriously, not even kidding). We’re starting next year strong with more Silicon Prairie News Meetups in Omaha, Des Moines and Kansas City and regularly scheduled Startup Job Crawls in our event lineup, and we will be preparing for our biggest Big Omaha yet.

We’ll need a go-getter, hustler, straight-g, a real Entertainment 720’s Tom Haverford, someone who can help us with everything from the smallest of details to larger promotional efforts to the overall attendee experience for all our events. We’re looking for a student either in public relations or marketing, or someone who has a knack for event planning, kissing babies and making dreams come true.

If you or someone you know comes to mind, please follow the instructions below or forward this on to that individual. We’ll be taking applications beginning today and we’ll make the hire as soon as we find the best candidate, so put your homework aside for a couple hours and get your application in as soon as possible.
