With the deadline for its first regional class less than a month away, Kansas-based entrepreneurial immersion program Pipeline is providing potential applicants an opportunity to learn a little more about what it offers to entrepreneurs. Pipeline will host an informational networking reception from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Kauffman Laboratories for Enterprise Creation at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation (4801 Rockhill Rd.)

Pipeline has billed the event as “a one-time chance for potential applicants and mentors to meet our alumni see what we are about” in advance of the Pipeline application deadline, which is Oct. 24.

On Pipeline’s website, interested entrepreneurs can learn more about the program or start an application. The website includes a list of applicant qualifications that are not required but are encouraged:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • Currently running/launching a technology business in the Midwest
  • At least three years of business or scientific management experience
  • Ability to take feedback and integrate advice and counsel into his/her work
  • Willingness to work toward scaling/growth in his/her business
  • Ability to manage uncertainty and ambiguity and to take measured risk
  • Strong interpersonal and business communication skills
For those not well-versed in Pipeline’s recent exploits, the five-year-old organization in April announced the expansion of its focus from Kansas to the Midwest as a result of budget cuts in Kansas and a subsequent $800,000 challenge grant from the Kauffman Foundation. The organization is actively recruiting entrepreneurs from across the region and recently released the following promotional video:
