A little holiday break won’t slow events down on the Prairie, so after you’ve finished one of the last grill-outs of the summer, look forward to a week full of events.

Tuesday is the start of Omaha Creative Week so make sure to check out omahacreativeweek.com for the events around the city. On Wednesday, Des Moines will feel the artistic love this week when BitMethod hosts a Design+Tech presentation featuring Jeremy Harrington.

Also on Wednesday, the Heartland Developers Conference will kick off in Omaha. The following day will see TechBrew Des Moines at Dos Rios. Also on Thursday evening, the Greater Omaha Young Professionals will host an Omaha After Work event at the Lucky Bucket Brewery in LaVista.

The week will close out with the BarCamp Omaha opening party on Friday followed by an all-day BarCamp on Saturday. And later that day, Oxide Design will invite the community out to celebrate the release of “Letterhead + Logo Design 12,” Oxide’s first book.

Design+Tech: Jeremy Harrington – Wednesday, 7-8:30 p.m.

This month, we are pleased to have Jeremy Harrington present on rapid, communication-focused interface design. Jeremy is the Lead User Experience Designer for Voce Communications and trust us, this dude knows his stuff. Jeremy’s presentation will draw from his many years of experience working on projects, big and small, with clients such as Disney, Playstation, and Logitech.

Greater Omaha Young Professionals: Omaha After Work at the Lucky Bucket Brewery – Thursday, 6-9 p.m.

Check out Lucky Bucket Brewery, one of Omaha’s biggest entrepreneurial successes in the last few years (they grew 400 percent in the last year)! Sample some of the finest brew, enjoy appetizers, network with other young professionals, plus hear from co-owner and brewmaster Zac Triemert.

Cost to attend is $15 per person or $25 per couple and includes brewery tour, two glasses of Lucky Bucket brew and appetizers.
