In the latest travelogue of the globe-trotting Silicon Prairie News team (well, not quite “globe-trotting” yet), I’ve landed in the City of Angels to attend this weekend’s Startup Weekend event at Coloft.
While this is purely a personal trip on my personal budget – I’ll be participating in the weekend just like anyone else – I’m also going to do some blogging on Silicon Prairie News about my experience. So, if you’re a fan of Startup Weekends, stay tuned, this one is sure to be fun. You may remember in February, Startup Weekend Los Angeles was the genesis of Zaarly, an idea that, over the course of three days, turned into a full-time startup for Kansas Citian Bo Fishback and two others.
I’m hitting up the beach and a few good coffee shops today (it’s must-do for me on vacations to visit great coffee shops) as well as getting in some R&R before the event starts at 6 p.m. If you’re in LA or at Startup Weekend and want to meet up, give me a shout in the comments below, on Twitter (@dannyaway) or at danny@siliconprairienews.com. Or if you have suggestions for a great coffee shop – I’ve heard Groundwork Coffee is a must – please let me know.
I’m also headed to San Francisco next week (Aug. 23-25) to visit some friends in and around the city. If you want to get together to chat Silicon Prairie News or startups or cool things, such as great coffee shops, hit me up.
