This is the sixth post in a six-post series recapping the demonstrations that took place at Thursday’s Cornstalks Demo Night. To learn more about the event, see our post, “These six startups will present at tonight’s Cornstalks Demo Night.”

Although this last post in our series covering Cornstalks Demo Night isn’t highlighting a startup’s product built from the ground up, the event’s organizer, Tom Chapman of the Greater Omaha Chamber, included it in the lineup for its relation to current events.

In response to the major flooding occurring throughout the Midwest, Omahan Chris Augeri created The MightyMoRiver Project, an Ushahidi-powered and Crowdmap-hosted site aggregating information on the Missouri River flooding events.

“Once you get there, everything you see is pretty much interactive,” Augeri said. One feature of MightyMoRiver allows users to filter map overlays, such as photos or government data. There’s also a section which lets users browse press clippings added by others.

When closing the presentation, Augeri posed the question to himself: “Could you create a company around this?” His answer: “Sure you could, and I’d love to do that.”

To see the other features of the MightyMoRiver Project and learn how you can become involved, check out the video of Augeri’s demo below.
