Steve Kiene and Patrick Smith of Nebraska Global will speak at Cornstalks on Thursday night at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce downtown office (1301 Harney). Networking starts at 6:30 p.m., and the presentation follows at 7:30.
Kiene is managing principal and Smith is a principal and the COO of Nebraska Global, a Lincoln-based venture capital fund that was founded last year with the goal of launching and funding 10 spin-off companies within five years. Two of those companies, Don’t Panic Labs and ICORA, are already operational.

Cornstalks, started in 2008, is a monthly forum for regional high-growth entrepreneurs and investors to network and exchange ideas.
“In my opinion, hearing Steve and Patrick talk would be extremely valuable for people building a software enterprise in Nebraska,” Cornstalks organizer Tom Chapman said in an email. “They have both been part of a number of multi-million dollar revenue companies here and are now growing multiple companies here.”
