Annual report revised
Last November we announced that we'd be putting together the inaugural Silicon Prairie Annual Report to "serve as a recorded benchmark for our entrepreneurial ecosystem for 2010 as well as an annual measurement of our progress in the future."
We undertook this project with the best of intentions, planning to tabulate analytical information on the six tenets of an entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as recognize the top individuals working on advancing those tenets. We also planned to name a regional Startup of the Year.
Unfortunately, time moves very quickly and it's already been six months since we announced the project. Our efforts have been focused so much on launching the Kansas City edition, putting on the third annual Big Omaha and creating a new event later this year in Thinc Iowa (as well as keeping up the day-to-day coverage of an expanding community) that the project has had to move to the back-burner.
That said, we appreciate all of you who submitted information for the report and we'll do our best to share that information through posts here on Silicon Prairie News rather than in the planned report format.
Also, we haven't given up on the idea of recognizing the talented and committed individuals and companies in the region who are working to elevate the Silicon Prairie region as a Center of Innovation. Look for more information on these awards later in the year.
