Since becoming a part of the Silicon Prairie News team nearly two years ago, and immersing myself in the entrepreneurial and business community of Iowa, I couldn’t be more excited to make this announcement today.

Coming this October, we will be holding the inaugural Thinc Iowa event in Des Moines, a conference on the common ground between corporations and startups.

On Thursday, October 20, we’ll kick things off with an opening party, and on Friday, October 21, we’ll gather for a full-day of keynotes on a single-track stage. And just as we’ve been known for thowing epic parties in the past in Omaha and recently in Kansas City, we’ll close out Thinc Iowa with an unforgettable party in Des Moines, as well.

As you may be aware, in just about two months we’ll be putting on our third annual Big Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. This event brings in nationally recognized entrepreneurs, creatives and innovators to inspire, motivate and educate the attendees. At Thinc Iowa, expect a similar level for the speaker lineup, but know that they’ll be a unique perspective not seen at Big Omaha. In other words, Thinc Iowa is not Big Omaha Part 2.

Venues are yet to be determined, but just as we’ve been known to prioritze the intimacy of the event – 500 attendees at Big Omaha – and to deliver an unforgettable experience from the moment you enter to the moment you depart, you can expect the same level of excellence with Thinc Iowa.

Be sure to mark it on your calendars, and if you have any questions or ideas, reach out to me at geoff@siliconprairienews.com.

Also, we want to give the highest of shout-outs to the good folks at Performance Marketing in West Des Moines who are partnering with us on certain aspects of this event. They actually suggested the topic and have put a ton of time, effort and energy into it already.
