Tim opined these same comments two years ago. We'll let our portfolio companies (listed on our website) speak for themselves about the benefits of our organization. By the way, the prize is now up to $50,000 due to the generosity of two successful Lincoln entrepreneurs (Marcus Tooze - GIS Workshop; Ben Harris - NBC Banchsares).
Welcome back to Nebraska Tim!!

I'm not sure what portfolio you're referring to. I've checked your website and the only listing I see of companies is in the location of past winners. Only one of those companies is a web 2.0 type company. The other ones appear to be either brick and mortar stores or some family boutique. But, since you want to let your portfolio speak for itself, let's hear the details of what those businesses have done since winning. How much money in revenue have they grown? How much of that has been attributed to the dollar amount that they received in funding? What % has Invest Nebraska taken in each of those companies they've invested in? What's the average % that they've taken? Did those companies all have to give up a board seat? I think that sort of transparency is only appropriate since this seems to be a new way of investing in peoples companies that I've not heard of anywhere else.

As a non-profit organization, transparency is very important to us. I'll put together the information you are interested in. By the way, our portfolio now also includes two cleantech companies (Cropmetrics and Energy Pioneer Solutions) and one value-added ag (Welsch's). We'll talk soon.
